THE INAUGURATION OF YEIDP'S PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE BY THE HONOURABLE MINISTER OF YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AT THE MINISTRY CONFERENCE ROOM

The opening remark was done by the representative of the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Youth Development. The Permanent Secretary recognized the honour in welcoming everyone to the inauguration. He acknowledged the inauguration as a critical step in the journey to an economically vibrant Nation (Nigeria) and stating the vital role of the strength of the youth. He further stated the YEIDEP’s initiative aligns with the objectives of the Ministry of Youth Development and a wilder vision of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) in engaging the youth through sustainable economic opportunities. He stated the urgency of this program giving to the fact that the youth holds a more significant figure in the nation’s population and creating an environment for the to thrive in it. Speaking on enterprise grant, business development services, technical assistance and management support particularly in agricultural business and agro-allied sectors. were amongst the support the Ministry pledges in regards to the program. He noted that over 5 million applications have been received and commended the eagerness, readiness of the youth in actively participating in national development. He tagged the inauguration as a ‘Call to Duty’ and urges the committee to be ready in meeting the expectations and the great responsibility that lies ahead, having therefore a transparent character and a high sense of accountability. He finally congratulated the members of the committee and reassured his pledges of the Ministry’s support.

The Co-ordinator General of YEIDEP in his speech acknowledges the Honourable Minister, Permanent Secretary and the Chief-of-Staff for their patriotism and the open arms they all offered with the initiative of creating a platform where the youth of the nation will be engaged economically and activating them for economic revolution. He spotted the need to harness the potentials of the youth which could bring the nation glory and will be envied by the nations of the world. Acknowledging and appreciating the support of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) whose vision for the youth is the committee being built upon. He urges the youth to align with vision of building the nation where no man is suppressed and everyone with equal opportunity and privileges to live a happy life. He counted it his joy seeing the many applications and subscribers on the portal and gave the vision of 20 million applications with the duration of 24 months and called on all youth to become a catylst in building a country that is resilient, economic vibrant and fit for the dream that we have all hoped for the country Nigeria.

Welcoming the guest, the minister acknowledged YEIDP as a bold and strategic response of the pressing needs of our youth and a testament to the President’s administration commitment in empowering young Nigerians, addressing unemployment and countering radicalization through economic improvement. ‘We are not just launching a program, we are igniting the movement of youth transformation, innovation and national development’ so he said, adding to his overwhelming expression by the number of youths who have applied to be part of this initiative reflecting it as the urgency and trust of the youth in the government towards their future. The minister therefore spoke on their job description and how it tends to guide, shape the life of millions through the implementation of integrity, transparency which will be in use in carrying out this intervention. He commended the target of YEIDP in meeting 20 million youths, particularly in agriculture and agro-allied enterprises. ‘On behalf of the President, the Federal Ministry of Youth Development I congratulate you on your selection and officially inaugurate you inaugurate the YEIDP project committee, may your service be marked by excellence, equity and impacted’ he ended his speech. The committee chairman pledges in all sincerity not bring any form of disappointment in carrying out and fulfilling the task ahead and thanked the co ordinator for the esteemed privilege.

The CEO, Cater and Merger Consult Ltd. acknowledged as the face of YEIDP in diaspora, to help facilitate the engagement across UK, Europe and America. He stated his joy to be part of the movement and assured the outcome to be an amazing one. He therefore presented a gift to the minister which was hence received and applauded.
